Review of Little Shop of Horrors (1986) by Tiffany B — 02 Oct 2009
This is a really goofy but hilarious and smart movie at the same time. Frank Oz is a genius with puppets...and real people it turns out. Some of the singing isn't that great but it's a comedy so it all kind of fits the mood.
The music itself is some great Blues Brothers-style R&B for the most part, with a show tune edge. My favorite character is probably Steve Martin's sadistic dentist. And of course Rick Moranis is the ultimate nerd, which is his typecast role, but he does it so well.
