Review of Little Shop of Horrors (1986) by Atlanta H — 12 Jul 2010
Justina's choice, Justina's four star rating. Now for my comments:
......
I was shocked at the images of sadomasochism, perversion, homosexuality, trumped up tarts, but maybe that's just me. The violence didn't shock me. But I've never seen such an out movie for fetishists! Mainstream America too! Wow.
After the movie Justina was talking like Ellen Greene! We were making fun of her voice. What a tramp! (Yes I know she is a former tramp, a hooker with a heart of gold, right?) The girl looked like she stuffed melons down her shirt!
The movie reminded me a lot of Guys and Dolls. I am continually amazed at what Hollywood gets away with. I must have led a really repressed childhood...
We were both singing "Suddenly Seymour" last night. I find it much easier to sing musical theater as opposed to liturgics... In fact, I think we must have studied a song from Little Shop of Horrors in one of my voice classes.
I'm glad to see my daughter is as dramatic as I am. Its not hard to figure out where she got it from. :).
