Fun, campy, wild and energetic are all words to describe this excellent adaptation of the Off-Broadway musical smash. The songs are incredibly catchy. The performances are spirited and terrific, especially by Rick Moranis (Who knew he could sing?), Ellen Greene, and Steve Martin.
The puppetry on Audrey II is stunning, and you get great cameos from the likes of Bill Murray and John Candy. And the change of ending is suitable and satisfactory to movie audiences. There really are few musicals like Little Shop, and even 26 years later, it is still one of the most entertaining musicals ever produced.
