Review of Little Otik (2001) by Andrew B — 04 Apr 2008

This is a fun if not a bit disturbing film. If you're not used to Svankmajer's style, well then you're in for something unique. I enjoyed the way it developed and it has some humorous and interesting surreal sequences and wraps up pretty well, but it is a bit long and the visuals aren't always appealing (Svankmajer abuses the use of close-ups in some ways) but if you're a fan of surrealism or Svankmajer in general, you should definitely check it out.
