Review of Little Nicky (2000) by Nicky James P — 23 Aug 2009
This film got a pretty bad rap. But believe it or not, this is my first time seeing it. Some of the special effects were terrible whereas some were pretty damn amazing for a movie of its budget. All of the effects on the dog were great. This is not a film for movie critics or someone looking for a serious romp. But if you're looking for a dumb story for a boring saturday afternoon and are in need in a few guilty laughs, it's just what the doctor ordered. Typical Sandler silly acting and, some would say annoying, voices. But you can't be too intelligent if you're going into an ada sandler film not expecting that. This one goes up there with the other Sandler classics like Big Daddy, The Waterboy, Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison with plenty homages to each film. As well as an homage to Whitey from Eight Crazy Nights.
Great cast as well.Buy it if you've ever enjoyed any previous film from Sandler and rent it if you are looking for a night of fun laughter. But avoid it all costs if you're looking for any coherency or meaningful plot.
