Review of Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland (1989) by Don M — 13 Jan 2008
This movie stuck with me my entire life, I just never forgot it for some reason. After re-watching it a few nights ago, I understand why: It's fucking terrifying. The nightmares that Nemo has are nightmares that I have had as a child.
You're mother not paying attention to you no matter how hard you try, something constantly chasing you that you can't get away from; it was like from my mind to the screen. Plus, it's just generally eerie.
It's movies like this that shaped the types of movies I like today, and that's a good thing. I love that my parents let me watch movies like this, it shows that they gave me a little credit.
