Review of Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland (1989) by Nicole F — 03 Jan 2009
This film is an outstanding animated classic that seems to get little recognition.
It stands on the same level of quality as the finest of Disney classics and the whimsy of Studio Ghibli's anime features.
They don't make animation like this anymore, stories with integrity. Characters with personalities not bound by popular trends and expressions. Strong moral lessons, but with humor and tenderness. Frightening images and scary villains that even Disney seems to have abandonded. Well scored music and top-key animation that spares no expense and pays off handsomely.
This is a must-have for cartoon lovers of all ages.
