Review of Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland (1989) by Logan R — 03 Feb 2010
Don't Confuse this movie with "Finding Nemo", in fact it came out way before then, and to prove it, whenever I heard "Nemo" in the name, it reminded me of the kid in pajamas who went to what is literally a dream world! When I was little, this was one of my favorite animated movies, and it still is now! Like "Pinnochio", it starts out cutesy in the first half, but in the second half.
... IT GETS SCARY!!! It was one of the darkest kids movies of all time! It is pleasing for kids and adults! You may not realize this due to the flawless animation, but did you know this is a japanese anime movie? THAT'S RIGHT! It originated in Japan! I found that hard to believe, because the animations seemed so American-like, THEY ARE THAT GOOD! If you loved "Spirited Away", you will love this too! If you combined "Spirited Away" with "Labyrinth", and then multiplied it by "Night on Bald Mountain from Fantasia", you'd get "Little Nemo".
