Review of Little Monsters (1989) by Rob M — 11 Mar 2009
The tone is bleak and uneven, but Daniel Sterns performance as the Dad was so believable. Ben Savage also slightly upstages his older brother, but overall this is Fred Savage's best film (As an actor).
It has solid insight but you can see why it flopped at the Box office. Parents would find it to sweary for pre-teens and some parts are just too dark and too twisted (pedophile undertones as far as todays audiences would see).
It has no clear audience in my view, but it's just about watchable.
