Review of Little Miss Sunshine (2006) by Sam N — 22 Nov 2012
A brilliant human comedy which pits a variety of very different personalities against each other - in a bright yellow VW van with a clutch that doesn't work and a horn that goes of from time to time.
Yes, hilarity ensues, but at the same time the personalities are played off against each other superbly without a preachy "Learning to accept their differences" feel. I was particularly impressed by Steve Carell, playing a love-stricken genius who was involved in a recent failed suicide attempt - for once, he didn't play a complete idiot, and he was actually quite good at it.
