Review of Little Miss Sunshine (2006) by Peter P — 25 Feb 2013
At first I thought: "Oh no, it's one of those movies again". I even thought about turning it off in the first ten minutes, but I'm glad I stuck with it. It's actually a really clever movie.
The acting and dialogue are excellent and the story surprising. It's like a combination between 'Happiness' and a National Lampoon movie, so it's on the lighter side of dark as far as comedy goes.
Dwayne and Frank are hilarious and Olive is so fucking cute I just want to wear her as a necklace. This whole children pageant thing is so scummy, and the movie makers seem to agree judging from the way they portrayed it.
Olive is just a kid being a kid like it's supposed to be and that's grand.
