Review of Little Miss Sunshine (2006) by Katz A — 22 Sep 2013
Strong performances throughout - by all members of the principal cast. I'll always have a special little place in my heart for Little Miss Sunshine. Abigail Breslin delivered a wonderfully honest performance; Steve Carell was unusually tame and talented; Paul Dano was fantastic as the emo, intelligent son; Alan Arkin was hilariously raunchy; Greg Kinnear is always a star; and Toni Colette was bearable.
Olive is a charming young soul just looking for enjoyment in life through her dreams of becoming a beauty queen. She doesn't care about her chances, maybe because she doesn't comprehend them, and there is something tragic, beautiful, and admirable about that.
I love her.
