Review of Little Men (2016) by Spencer P — 06 Jan 2018
The film has potential but is weakened by its slow pace, the absence of a main character and the portrayal of the shopkeeper as reserved and entitled. Sachs' attempt to portray the friendship between the two boys in the story comes across as strained and formulaic.
For example, Sachs films two long sequences of Tony on a scooter followed by Jake on roller skates moving down the sidewalks of New York, a lame and boring attempt to illustrate their friendship.
