Review of Little Fauss and Big Halsy (1970) by Rick R — 14 Dec 2014
I'd never heard of this Robert Redford film before about him as a womanizing, manipulative motorcycle racers and his quiet, introverted rival/partner Michael J. Pollard. According to IMDB, Reford and Pollard did not get along in real life, which lent itself to their onscreen rivalry.
Lauren Hutton plays the love interest, but there's really not a lot here to recommend other than getting to see Pollard in a leading role and a wonderful performance by Noah Beery Jr. and Lucille Benson as Pollard's parents.
I suppose it's also kind of interesting to see Reford playing basically a jerk. Johnny Cash provides the theme song.
