Review of Little Children (2006) by Linda M — 07 Feb 2009
While it's a great film, in the end, I found it unfulfilling. Perhaps the ending was too tidy or perhaps, having watch Revolutionary Road the day before, this film just wasn't wrenching enough.
While the characters were quite believable, the plot was a bit too reliant on coincidences, which reduced the over-all impact of the film. Powerful but contrived. Although I must say that I love the narration.
It underscored the self-aggrandizing pettiness that these characters have to resort to in order to feel relevant to the word around them.
