Review of Little Children (2006) by Sonya D — 03 May 2009
Didn't like it. In the beginning I was kind of drawn in. It started out very interesting and grabbed my attention, but as it went along, it got kind of messy. By the end of the movie I was scratching my head thinking "did I miss something?".
I just didn't get it. I knew it was about an affair, but the plot just didn't come together for me. I loved Kate's acting, because she is an awesome actress, so I can't blame her for the lack of story.
I don't see how this got nominated for any awards, because it wasn't that great to me. They should have left out the whole child molester story and wrote more story around the affair and the failing marriages.
It would have been more interesting to see more interactions with Kate's character and her weird husband. I also didn't like the way Sarah treated her child, like she wished she wasn't even around.
Also, I don't see why the movie was called LITTLE CHILDREN. Yes, there was little children in the movie, but they should have called the movie "STUPID ADULTS", because that would have fit better!
