Review of Little Children (2006) by Lion O — 25 Feb 2011
Despite the amazing Kate Winslet who is one of my favourite actors of all time as well as the talented Patrick Wilson, the story-line with their characters and their affair, dulls next to the other story-line with the obsessive cop and the peadophile ex-con, and for me personally, I think the film suffered from giving the affair story-line much more attention.
What I loved about this film is the complex relationship between the cop and the ex-con, the equally complex themes that their story is built on and the amazing journey they suffer through, individually as characters, and also together.
The scene in the playground literally took my breath away.
