Review of Little Children (2006) by Sam G — 19 Dec 2009
This is a film about the inevitable consequence on others of the selfish choices adults make in order to escape from their responsibilities and succumb to their desires. Hence the title which appears to have been taken from the Biblical reference, "Suffer the little children".
There is a lack of subtlety in the direction, acting and indeed the script itself which detracts from the overall effect and I was unable to remain sympathetic to the characters although Kate Winslet's performance kept me interested.
