I don't really know how to describe this movie... It was pretty heavy, but not in a depressing way. The performances were good (which, of course, I expected from Kate Winslet), the cinematography was good, the writing was well-done, and the music score was great for two main reasons: it went along well with the emotions, and Thomas Newman made it (he also did the music score for American Beauty, my favorite movie).
I wouldn't suggest actual little children to watch it.
