Review of Little Children (2006) by Tom B — 02 Sep 2011
A film that grows on you as you think about it. All of the "adults" in the film act, at least at first, like "little children": cliques, playing games, controlling others, temper tantrums, bullying, dares, masturbation, playing hooky.
Through the course of the film, some grow up. Interestingly, it is the most damaged character that has the guts to change his life the most. The sequence between Jackie Earle Haley and Jane Adams is incredible -- two damaged people seemingly make a connection, but it goes horribly wrong.
Patrick Wilson is the central character and perhaps the quintessential "child," hot sex with Winslet excepted. The voice over narration was intrusive and with one exception detracted from the film.
