Review of Little Caesar (1931) by Katie S — 07 Nov 2007

I wanted to like this. I really like Edward G. Robinson. Always have and always will. And there definitely was some very cool shots in the movie involving Caesar. The shot when he almost kills Joe but cannot was so ahead of its time.

But I just could not get invested in this. I like The Public Enemy a lot more. So much more. The sound was horrible and they talked very fast so I could not understand what was said a lot of the time.

So that is a problem. But Robinson was good and I though they did a very good job with his character. He had these little moments that said a lot I felt. And "Mother of Mercy! Is this the end of Rico?" was awesome.

I loved that line, that ending. But again I just could not invest myself all that much.
