Review of Little Caesar (1931) by Jordan T — 13 Jun 2009
The very first gangster picture and perhaps the one with the most stereotypes. Again preaching the message of "crime doesn't pay" this one manages to do something a little different by not having the main "hoodlum" bite the dust when he's surrounded towards the end.
..they wait until the actual end lol. If you remember I said something about stereotypes SEE? Up near the top SEE? Better watch your mouth SEE? I'm talkin' to you SEE?! MYAH SEE! Edward G. Robinson (Caesar) amazing uttered that iconic mobster tagline over and over again and I LOVED IT! The way he talked was so funny and I had a hard time taking him seriously, but he was badass in his own right by just taking control of things and putting people in their place.
Would've been nice to see him not go out the way he did, but these days were all about praising the police so you have that. Entertaining watch and a very short one at that (no pun intended). MUST SEE for gangster flix lovers!
