A Definitive Gangster Movie. When Rico (Edward G. Robinson) and his buddy Joe, a crime duo decide that petty robberies aren't enough they to move to the city. Once in the city, they enter into the underworld of crime.

Rico joins a crime boss named Sam who brings him in and gets him started. Soon Rico's lust for power grows out of control and he tells Sam that he is taking over the organization. And just like that he becomes a leading crime boss! Rico, now known in the crime world as "Little Caesar" continues his reign of crime, taking over other crime outfits.

His ultimate goal: become the Big Boss! Robinson's snappy tone and ruthless attitude makes him a truly unforgettable character in the ocean of gangster films. All of the supporting cast were very good and fun to watch.

Even for being a movie that was made in 1930 it never really lacks in any areas. Even the soundtrack was proper. There weren't many bad things about the film that I can remember. It wasn't a perfect movie by any standards, but it is a very historical movie.

As for gangster films in general I would probably place 'Little Caesar' very high on the list of the best. Somewhere in between the Cagney and Bogart gangster films and the original Scarface. 4.
