Review of Lisztomania (1975) by Jonathan S — 17 Apr 2010
The very fact that not only could someone dream this nonsense up, but that it could also get the money to be made is in itself a staggering achievement. Nearly incomprehensible and totally off the wall, this sex-charged rape of musical history has to be seen to be believed.
When you can end a film with Franz Liszt flying an organ-rocket out of heaven to dive bomb a resurrected Richard Wagner/Franken-Hitler monster with a machine gun, that says a lot about you interpret history.
