Review of Listen to Me Marlon (2015) by Matthew S — 29 Jul 2015
Stevan Riley's documentary about Marlon Brando is actually narrated by the iconic superstar himself. Thanks to what must be a vast collection of the actor's own audio and sometimes visually-related items and recordings made by Brando over the course of his life.
It feeds into our celebrity-obsessed cultural hunger. It is also an addictive experience.
I'm not sure I was really "surprised" by anything as much as fascinated by a person who was so openly conflicted and often confused about his own choices and actions.
As he was on film, Brando's voice is impossible to ignore.
