Review of Liquid Sky (1982) by James G — 25 Aug 2007
Bad, but good! Made on a shoestring budget this is nevertheless an ambitious film with a style all of its own, and great fashions. My favourite bit is the "Me And My Rhythm Box" song. I suppose it could be taken as a commentary on sleazy, spoilt downtown New York nightlife.
Anne Carlisle gives an earnest performance which you will either find impossible to take seriously, or strangely affecting. Visuals and music may induce migraines and bad cheese nightmares.
