Review of Liquid Sky (1982) by Roger R — 12 Dec 2009
Let this film be forever remembered for bringing the 80s into the 80s. It's great, it's terrible. Much like its characters, it is anything and everything except banal.
The good: Fantastic, outrageous and prescient story, amazing production design and photography of New York City that is still unmatched.
The bad: Too long, too talky, mostly stilted performances and a Valerie Solanas-esque representation of a lesbian that is offensive now and was tired even in 1983.
