Review of Lions for Lambs (2007) by Prathaban M — 08 Dec 2008
I usually do not watch military films because my 60's mentality screams injustice. I know we live in a world of greed and control. I know we HAVE to defend our country at times of peril. I just don't think that we need to GO AFTER others as much as we do under the guise of democracy.
This film represents my argument. Needless deaths of our soldiers have occurred. Sadly, it is necessary in specific situations. It sickened me to watch this, but I understand WHY it was made. To teach.
You can't ask for a better cast to have learned from. The compromises that each and every person makes when connected with war is both sad and disarming. I have the utmost respect for the service men and women of our country and thank them and their families for their sacrifices.
