Review of Lions for Lambs (2007) by Capt. M — 07 Nov 2012
It is November of 2012 and I just saw this movie for the first time. 5 years later and the precept of this movie, sadly, is more true than ever.
I can understand that the critics who love their MAOF's and hate the documentaries would not rate this movie well. This said, this movie and all of the negative criticism provide a perfect profile of what American's have become: a psychologically lazy, over marketed, 'don't educate me, entertain me' demographic who would rather protest in their tweets instead of in the streets.
My favorite part of this movie is the proposal that Arian & Ernest put forward: Take a year to volunteer and engage with others that are not your demographic.
If even a third of American citizens took the time to 'engage', I am sure that we would not allow politicians to spend $6,000,000,000 (BILLION) on campaigning. 6 BILLION -- how many houses would that rebuild on Staten Island...
This movie, along with all 7 seasons of The West Wing, should be continuously run on stations like CW and WGN. Maybe then, instead of learning about how the cops catch criminals (L & O and CSI reruns), our nation would learn about how our government works...
