Review of Lion (2016) by Nicholas S — 20 Feb 2017
Such a good film. True story of a poor young Indian boy who becomes separated from his family after getting on a empty train carriage to sleep. when he wakes up the train is on the move and the doors locked.
two days later and 1600 miles away from home the young boy is unable to tell anyone where he is from or even pronounce his name correctly... so his journey begins... it is an emotionally charged and heart rending tale.
Nicole kidman the young boys foster mother plays a blinding part, so genuine and emotional no doubt fuelled by her own real life experiences of adoption.. my only regret is that I forgot to take some tissues and had to wipe my face and blow my nose on my jumper.
.. the best film I have seen in ages x.
