Lion is the based on the amazing true story of five year old Saroo who gets lost on the streets of Calcutta, thousands of miles from home. That’s all I’m saying about the story, the less you know the better.
Dev Patel is terrific as Saroo but the standout performance is from Sunny Pawar as the young Saroo. As far as child actors go he was brilliant. The level of emotion in this one movie is incredible. Sure it’s a crowd pleaser but it’s also a gut wrenching powerful story accompanied by a beautiful soundtrack.
Highly recommended.
