Review of Lion (2016) by Sydney P — 18 Feb 2017

Ok, I can see the hype. This movie is well-acted and told. Nice performances by the cast but visually it was quite captivating as well. I think this director is relatively new on the scene and if this movie says anything, I look forward to his next.

One gripe, what was the purpose of Rooney Mara? I mean, yes she serves as a mirror character but her large presence in the marketing material is so disproportionate to her actual role that it was a bit disappointing.

I hope film makers realize that a good movie will get audiences even without big names.
