Review of Lion (2015) by Cliff J — 30 Jun 2017
The first 30-45 minutes of this film were beyond gripping, the epitome of "show don't tell." While something was lost when the film got more talk-y and there were points where I felt a bit emotionally manipulated, the whole thing coasted on that strong start: a lost kid searching for home.
No wonder you cannot help but be moved by the whole thing. Sometimes that is all you need.
