OH WOW! This is such a wonderful and delightful movie. I really can?t say that this is the best Japanese film I have ever seen, as it is not particularly deep in almost any way. But it is by far one of the most enjoyable movies I think I have ever seen.

In a small town of Japan, three high school students need a singer for their band to participate in the upcoming school festival. They pick a Korean exchange student, played by Bae Doo-Na who is a very famous actress from Korea.

She is not very pretty, but is one of my favorite actresses from Korean cinema. The band must practice endlessly to improve and decide to only play songs from The Blue Hearts, a Japanese band that apparently everyone knows in Japan.

I have of course have never heard of them, but as they are a band that is much like the Ramones I became a fan immediately. I really recommend this movie to anyone who gets the chance to watch it, (just don?t expect Battle Royale, OK!).

I also hope you can find a copy that subtitles the lyrics of the songs they sing in the film, if you can?t understand Japanese. With lyrics like ?Like a rat, I want to be beautiful? or ?Lets sing and endless song, for this asshole of a world?, how can you go wrong.

This is one of the best Japanese films I have seen in a long time.
