What can be said about Lincoln, perhaps it should be cannot be said. An ardous undertaking it was for me and my tastes but a grand tale told in all it's glorified truth. An epic film sure to be sure but an intensive dialog drama in the same respect, politcally motivated intensity gives rise to the working man of his day and appropriate stature of time and place.
There is a better story about the conspiritors of the assasination and court cases prooving the injustices but this is more about the acievements of the time and events leading up to tragic death. It's hard to put a finger on a prime directive for the plot as would touch people in differnt ways and so much content of script allowing for thier take on this feature. I could easily put in it's more like a dramatized documentory but it's done just so well and better as the Academy aggreed than any other feature of it's production time. So be that as it may it's a film that can easily be seen again and again or so very much summed up in one viewing of laymans (political and humanitarian understanding level of comprehension) 'terms'.
Not enough can be said about the period effort of costume and set, but theres the real merrit enveloped in performances of script and how things were gone about getting done in a mannor or fasion aliken to the times effortlessly displayed. To be assured a brief nod of one's consciousness would be as briefly overlooked, missing nothing in a poetic and flowwing piece of cinimatic genious.
