Review of Lincoln (2012) by Andy B — 06 Jul 2013
Spielberg once again delivers but is in safe territory here. The real achievement is the casting. Sally Field delivers her best performance in two decades, Tommy Lee Jones is impeccable, and Daniel Day-Lewis, is well, remarkable and deserving of a third Oscar.
The sticking point for criticism is whether 150 minutes is necessary for foreign markets considering the volume of American political chit chatter. That aside, Lincoln is a bold and very relevant film.
