Review of Lincoln (2012) by Daron S — 10 Aug 2013
The movie Lincoln takes a look at the months during Lincoln's presidency when the 13th amendment of the constitution was passed. We already know how the civil war turned out and the blood shed that took place, but this takes a deeper look behind closed doors as Lincoln tries to abolish slavery, and he tries his hardest to get the votes needed to pass the 13th amendment .
Daniel Day-Lewis doesn't even look like himself in this film. He could be a Lincoln clone. Him and Sally Field (Mrs. Lincoln) did extremely well in this film, including their son Robert Lincoln played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
I was surprised to see David Strathairn in this film who played William Seward. He was on the once popular show Alphas, among many roles as well. This was a decent film and if you're into history, you'll really enjoy it.
