If you are not a history buff, this film is not for you unless you know how to appreciate a stunning performance without the need for constant action. It's incredibly slow-moving, but the acting and the authenticism make it well worth sitting through.
This film deserves every bit of the critical acclaim it received, and I don't often feel that way.
