Review of Lincoln (2012) by Matthew S — 21 May 2015
Certainly a quality-focused movie, but there is not really anything new explored here. Daniel Day-Lewis and Sally Field are both exceptional, but is that any surprise? Essentially, after a strong opening sequence, the film falls into by-the-number filmmaking.
Nothing wrong with that, but no great cinematic achievement here.
