Review of Limitless (2011) by Nicole M — 30 Jun 2012

I cannot believe how obscure this film seems to be! Inception came out and its marketing gurus created so much hype around how mind-blowing it was going to be (and then it disappointed slightly for not matching up to the hype) yet I did not come across any form of advertising for Limitless. I only managed to find it because I searched for Bradley Cooper movies. Perhaps that is the genius of this movie: with no hype to set the bar, it came as an awesome surprise, a hidden gem.

For me it ticked all the boxes of what I enjoy in a movie: rich characters, well built and unpredictable story, action that is not mindless, and of course, the fact that it made my brain go 'Woah!'. I immediately made a point of making my friends watch it, and we all had the same reaction. We all wanted to be this Eddie Morra guy, we all wanted access to those amazing pills.

The best movie of 2011, I recommend it to everyone.
