Review of Lilo & Stitch (2002) by Luke P — 09 Feb 2010
The Walt Disney animated output of the late 90's/early 00's is often dismissed as dud after dud after dud. However, there are some diamonds among the rough; Lilo & Stitch being a prime example.
A very sweet, cute and fun film, with great character design, lots of laughs and a nice message at it's core which isn't hammered in too hard. Stitch is a fantastic Disney character, funny, cute and anarchic, while the script and voicework are very well done.
Add to that a soundtrack packed with classic Elvis tunes and you have a film well worth your time. Funny, sweet and original, but with enough of that old Disney magic sprinkled in too. Check it out.
