Review of Lilo & Stitch (2002) by Kyle O — 16 Sep 2010
Alright, I'm going to be honest here. "Lilo & Stitch" is not a real return to form for Disney like some people tend to claim. While the first and second act of the film are great, the third isn't.
The film is a dramatic film, and it makes you sympahtize with Lilo and her situation at home. The film's dramatic stakes rise towards the end, but then it decides to jump ship and solve everything an easier way.
Instead of a satisfying ending, we get an explosive chase sequence and everything ending happily and almost a little too perfect. Aside from these problems, "Lilo & Stitch" boasts a great animation style, strong characters and a healthy dose of humor that make a very enjoyable Disney film.
It's just problematic though, but it's the best film out the output made from 2001-2005.
