Review of Lilo & Stitch (2002) by Jackson W — 14 Sep 2013
Some of it is a little funky and flat out weird, but no matter how many times I re-visit Lilo and Stitch I always like it more than okay. The sci-fi theme combined with Hawaiian culture is a stretch, but in little to no ways does it backfire.
Basically everything you like about Disney is here. The characters are emotionally engaging, at times I was very moved by it. The adventure is action-packed enough and is loaded with entertainment, and at times it looks pretty cool.
The animation is far from the trademark Disney CAPS system, but it manages to show itself off in a way that doesn't come off as totally inferior. The implementation of vacation style tourist music and Elvis Presley tunes is such a lively blend of a soundtrack, just listen to some of this material.
It's awesome. Lastly, its just an original story. I don't really expect anyone to really hate this movie, and I surely don't. It's no masterpiece, but to me its a great movie.
