Review of Lilo & Stitch (2002) by Vijay G — 22 Dec 2014
Lilo and Stitch is a fun, warm blend of Hawaiian life and inter-galactic space madness. This film can appeal to all ages, and some of its themes are strikingly realistic - the struggle to look after someone after their parents have died, the attempt to fit in; find friends.
The friendship that formulates between Lilo and Stitch is a great one, full of action and adventure. The cast is dynamic, and the animation is exquisite; vibrant and detailed. The film marks a return to traditional hand painted and drawn animation, featuring at times some beautiful landscape watercolour backgrounds that work well with the overall ambiance of each scene.
This film can appeal to even the oldest of audiences, it definitely can be regarded as a true Disney classic.
