Review of Lili Marleen (1981) by Gergely K — 18 Feb 2011
This movie does not treat only of a song since it could seem, of a tremendously popular song 70 years ago. Fassbinder as in many of his movies he speaks about an impossible love between a German singer and his Jewish lover, during the Germany Nazi in times of the second world war.
An impossible love and it is crushing along the movie his protagonists. Magnificent photography, baroque and a good script without exquisitenesses, rather sober. The movie does not speak since it could not seem of politics or of history either, persons' speech and of since they meet caught in a historical moment that goes falling to pieces, a dismal moment (of there his baroque photography).
Well Hanna Schygulla. In spite of the fact that it has aged badly, it is worth being a sight.
