Review of Lila Says (2005) by Matt P — 12 Jun 2007
A pretty decent noteworthy movie that caught my attention (Vahina Giocante actually is what caught my attention). I must say I was rather surprised in the film, not bad at all. A bit predictable yes but the performances were fairly decent.
Vahina Giocante and Mohammed Khouas acted well. The Cinematography had some nice moments yet overall wasn't exactly unique. The direction was fair, it was a book before hand so the predictability can only blamed so far on a single person.
I believe the soundtrack to the film tied in well for the flick. A storyline reminiscent of Malena, and narration that reminded me of Cidade de Deus; aloof in comparison however. If ever the possibility, maybe an interesting "check-it-out" kind of film.
Overall, 68-71.
