Review of Like Stars on Earth (2007) by Sayantan C — 10 Jul 2009
Itâ??s not difficult to see Aamir Khan directed T.Z.P. with heart, not only his cinematography but also his heart to care about neglected children. The movement of camera and the shots he used precisely expressed emotion of characters and pointed out the main topic of this movie, caring for kids. It is quiet interesting that Aamir used documentary style of cinematography to shot these kids, it makes them be observed like animals in discovery channel, which is isolated and distant, but also kind of forcing audience to focus on these kids, tried to make people stand on their angle to see problems they have to face. Aamirâ??s knowledge about directing is surprisingly professional. There are cinematographique scenes that can make T.Z.P. a classic.
Anyways, a successful movie isnâ??t only skillful cinematography but also decent story that touches and inspires audience. T.Z.P. certainly has both.
If you are teachers or parents, somehow lost in teaching and parenting, itâ??s your must-see movie. You can also watch it with your students or children.
