Such an excellent movie!!! Great story, acting, and most important - the point. Very good portrayal of how families focus too much on how 'smart' their kids are, what kind of job they'll get.

This is a great way of teaching how to bring out unique talents of kids and letting them grow with it. I can't stand the dad. He's pathetic, dumb, negligent, violent and abusive. He never talks to his younger son, always yells, and NEVER once asks the son how he feels or why he can't understand his homework.

No one ever bothers to figure out what's missing. Even the teacher in the regular school yells constantly. She's also VERY annoying. The dad acts like the only solution is boarding school and the only thing he's worried about is how much it's going to cost him.

The school focuses on behavior and discipline, not on a child's strengths. Of course, there's great acting by all. The jerk of a dad and ridiculous teachers mean they played their roles very well.

Above all, Aamir Khan is spectacular in this movie! He's caring and smart. He doesn't worry about the reputation of the school but rather helping a child overcome obstacles and succeed. His entrace was pretty cool.

He got the kids' attention in a fun way and that made them like the class. I also reallllllllly love the way he told Ishaan's story without revealing it was him. Giving examples of famous people who also had learning disabilities but were still very smart was brilliant.

It gave the boy insight and courage that he can learn, enjoy school, and be happy. It was so cute that his friend with crutches cried when Ishaan won the paint contest and then cried in the teacher's arms.

I cried along with them. I can't say enough about this movie. Amazing superb touching and wonderful! And splendid job to Ishaan for his acting! Highly recommend it.
