Review of Like Stars on Earth (2007) by T.ching L — 19 Mar 2011
I think Aamir Khan really make great movies! This one is so colourful and full of imagination! And once again, his film brought me to a journey of introspection about my own self, the society I am in, the way I should live, life and the world.
There were far less songs and dances than I first expected there would be. However, this didn't make this film any shorter than its counterparts. It spent plenty of time to portray the life of a child who had Dysgraphia and Dyslexia, the difficulties he faced and how he reacted. I think this is very nice. The film also reflects the problems in education system and the values upheld by most of the adults in India.
Despite his young age, Darsheel Safary was brilliant in the movie. It's needless to say that Aamir was amazing there. Both of them and all the other children makes the movie a delight to watch. They are just so adorable, their laughters, their smiles, their shimmering eyes and the way they move like they have wings!
To sum up, I think this movie is worth the time. It's so touching and meaningful. And, on top of everything else, it can make you smile :).
