Review of Like Minds (2006) by Ulla A — 06 May 2008
The plot is basically a copy-paste job from a number of other films (and novels and tv shows), featuring everything from secret societies, murders and teenage psychos to shrinks and police procedural. The plot's not really the reason you should be interested in the movie anyway.
It's all in the cast really. Toni Collette and Richard Roxburgh do an okay job in the adult roles as psychologist and cop, respectively. But it's Eddie Redmayne (Savage Grace, The Good Shepherd) and Tom Sturridge (Being Julia) that truly shine.
Their characters both fascinate and annoy, just like they're supposed to. Their chemistry with each other is something that should be bottled really. Looking forward to anything they choose to do in the future.
